i came across this plant when I was dropping my daughter to the train. I spotted a bigger area of yellow flowers and had a closer look.

The ground covering plants were covered with bees so of course I had to Google what it was. Turned out to be pouched egg plant or Limnanthes douglasii which seems to be known as a rich source for bees. It’s said the Honey of those plants taste like marshmallow.

I took a few from baby plants from the edge and planted it in trays but when I googled it later I read it’s an annual but produces so many seeds that it can be seen as perennial.

The though of honey with a marshmallow taste is just to tempting so we decided to plant it on the footpath if a wall be created when we bought the house.

so the seeds are ordered and will hopefully create a a carped of food for our ladies. And we might add seeds to the shop as well.
