Homegrown in Rylane

Beekeeping has a lot of interesting things. Since we got our first hive 3 years ago we learned a lot and there is always so something new to learn.

i get stung nearly everytime. It’s not proper stings but through the beesuit so the sting fies not go as deep as it normally would. It can be very itchy nonetheless.

So even more am I amazed of the bees peaceful behavior in 2 situations. Firstly when a swarm arrives and second when we give the bees back the harvested combs with the left residues of honey. We usually just put the supers with the empties combs outside the house door. Also all the instruments we used and the Honey excluder itself.

The bees cckean everything so spotless and they are not agresdive during that at all. Even when wasps join them. I sometimes just like to stand between them. Without a beesuit. It just gives a very nice feeling.
